Austral Meat is a South Australian, family owned and operated business which allows full control of the product every step of the way, from sourcing livestock to processing, packaging and delivery.
Austral Meat was founded in 1986 at Churchill Rd, Dry Creek – its first processing site.
In the early 1990’s, the Gepps Cross site, which is now the head office and processing facility, was purchased. Extensive works were undertaken, purpose building this site to ensure it had longevity, as there was always vision for expansion. Over the years, Austral Meat have streamlined some of the processes enabling delivery of an expanded range of products to their customer base. Austral Meat’s customers now have access to an even greater range of products, portion controlled and packaging/labelling facilities.
Continued growth in the business has allowed for capital investment in state of the art processing machinery that ensure that products can be delivered to customers in a timely manner.
Although Austral have exported in the past and still maintain an export licence, serving the domestic market has always been and will remain the primary focus for Austral in the years ahead.
Today Austral Meat is involved in all aspects of the meat industry – supplying food service, wholesale and retail customers. The company specialise in red meat but the product line also covers pork, poultry, game, smallgoods and manufactured products. Delivering to customers throughout Australia, the business grows bigger each year, however the quality and integrity of the product that is delivered to customers will never be compromised. Hygiene and food safety are protocols that are forefront in the management of the business and it’s benchmarked from the highest of standards.
In the years ahead, Austral Meat is moving into its next phase of growth and expansion. A refresh of the brand in 2014 saw a re-focus on the company’s mission, values and goals.
